About the course

Risk management is key to organisational success. It helps organisations achieve their key objectives, deliver their strategies, address challenges and delight their stakeholders. This course will help you better understand risk management, associated good practices and equip you to manage your risks in a consistent, structured way. It will help you appreciate the relationship between risk management and good corporate governance and will help you identify and address common risk management challenges.
Who should attend
This 12-hour, certified course is designed for managers and their teams who are involved in identifying, managing and reporting on risks. It is also highly suitable for staff in the second and third lines of defence who help provide assurance over the management of risk.

About the course author
John Chesshire

John Chesshire designs and delivers insightful, cost-effective training and related expert services in the following areas: internal audit, risk management, counter-fraud and corporate governance. John has over twenty years' experience working in these fields, as an Audit Committee Chair and has just completed a ten-year tour of duty as the Chief Assurance Officer for the States of Guernsey, where he successfully implemented and embedded an Enterprise Risk Management framework.

His recent clients include FTSE listed companies, multinationals, central and local government, law enforcement, professional services firms, European Institutes of Internal Auditors, NATO and the OECD. John holds a number of professional certifications (CFIIA, QIAL, CIA, CISA, SIRM), as a Principal
Examiner for the Institute of Risk Management and a Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham City University in the Governance and Assurance Hub.
